Continuing Education Credits for ISA Certified Arborists is available.

This seminar is intended for arborists, foresters, park managers, planners, landscape and golf course maintenance personnel, facility managers, risk managers, and others interested in learning how to evaluate trees for hazard. The course is applicable to field personnel who will actually complete hazard assessment forms, to supervisory staff who would hire consultants to complete assessments, and to department heads or risk managers who must make hazard abatement decisions based on evaluation data.

The course covers a wide range of hazard tree related topics, including assessing hazard potential, signs and symptoms of tree decay, legal and political implications of hazard trees, and hazard assessment techniques and protocols. A basic knowledge of tree biology is assumed, though some tree biology is included in the course.

Through classroom instruction, field demonstrations, and hands-on practice, participants will learn to make thorough field evaluations.
