The JOBS program
JOBS Opportunity and Basic Skills (JOBS) program is the state's employment and training program for people on public assistance. This program can help low-income families avoid the need for welfare.
The JOBS program is undergoing a significant change due to limited funding. Notifications are being sent to over 20,000 clients that their JOBS services will end on June 30, 2011. Our case managers will work with clients throughout June and July to begin writing new client plans as appropriate.
The JOBS program will have a reduce number of service options going forward. Every JOBS client with an active case plan will receive a notice about these services ending, except clients in JOBS Plus and Parents as Scholars programs.
Current JOBS clients who have questions about these changes should contact their case managers. If you do not know who to call, please call your local DHS office local DHS offices.
The program is administered by the DHS Children, Adults and Families (CAF) group. Clients obtain services and benefits through local DHS offices throughout the state.
